This is 2001 annual report of ITJIT-NET IPv6 activity.
This report was made by Takahiro Yugawa(yugawa@as4682.spin.ad.jp) on 2002/1/30.
Network name
ITJIT-NET (AS 4682)
History
- before 2001
assigned pTLA address 3ffe:504:200::/48 from IRI and connected to IRI
via IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel. routing protocol was RIPng(KAME route6d).
In 2000, assigned sNLA1 address 2001:200:200::/40 from WIDE and connected
to WIDE via IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel. routing protocol is BGP4+(zebra).
After that, we returned pTLA address to IRI, and we currently use
sNLA1 address. And also, we assigned sNLA1 address 2001:228:c00::/48
from JENS(AS2713) and connected to JENS via IPv6 over IPv4 tunnel.
routing protocol is BGP4+(zebra)
In 2000, we had 3 external parties, and 5 internal segments, 2 upstream
peers, and 1 private peer. The routing protocols we use are BGP4+ and
RIPng. we use zebra and KAME route6d as routing daemon.
- 2001/5
Created new internal segment. This segment is connected via CISCO
router. Although upstream of this segment is connected via IPv6 over
IPv4 tunnel, the WAN connection between two CISCO's uses IPv6 native
connection. This is the first time we use IPv6 native connection
besides ethernet media.
- applications
- OS: FreeBSD/NetBSD/OpenBSD
- DNS: bind8 + KAME patch
- HTTP: apache + KAME patch
- FTP: wu-ftpd + KAME patch
ftp.itjit.ne.jp is available for anonymous ftp.
- SMTP: sendmail + KAME patch
- SSH: ssh + KAME patch
- we are currently testing new IPv6 applications, such as
Solaris 8, bind 9, apache 2, sendmail 8.12, etc.

Routing Protocol
- for upstreams & peer, we use BGP4+.
- for downstreams, we use both BGP4+ and RIPng according to the user's
request.
- for IGP we use RIPng.
Address assingment
We currently assign /48 address window, because it is a WIDE rule.
- 2001:200:200::/48 ITJIT-NET internal use
- 2001:200:202::/48 ichiro.org
- 2001:200:203::/48 cyber-fleet
- 2001:200:204::/48 TokyoNet.GR.JP
Troubles
In 2001, we haven't experienced any major troubles, routing/applications
are working very stable.
