Network Name

History

May 1999 KDDlabs was assigned pNLA2 address space (3ffe:501:1828::/48) by WIDE.
Tunnel to WIDE was established, and we connected to WIDE with RIPng.
Feb 2000 KDDlabs was assigned sNLA1 address space (2001:200:600::/40) by WIDE.
The routing protocol to connect to WIDE was changed from RIPng to BGP4+.
Apr 2000 We deployed IPv6 on all area of our LAN by using VLAN technology.
Tunnel to TTNet and BGP4+ peering was established.
May 2000 Tunnel to APAN-JP and BGP4+ peering was established.
Tunnel to KDD-KTH21 was established, and we connected to KDD-KTH21 with RIPng.
We assigned 2001:200:602::/48 to KDD-KTH21, and assigned 2001:200:603::/48 to HITACHI-V6NSI.
Jul 2000 IPv6-ready FTP server (ftp.kddlabs.co.jp) was open.
Oct 2000 The routing protocol for KDD-KTH21 was changed from RIPng to BGP4+.

Trouble

On August 2000, our IPv6 gateway-router (PC-based router) was crashed by thunder. Because of it, all peers connecting to KDDlabs was down during the restoration work.
